Digital Opg / Cephalogram

Digital OPG (Orthopantomogram)

A Digital OPG is a specialized panoramic dental X-ray that captures the entire upper and lower jaw in a single image. It shows the teeth, jawbone, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and surrounding structures.
It helps dentists detect:

  • Impacted teeth

  • Jaw fractures

  • Infections

  • Cysts or tumors

  • Bone levels for dental implant planning

Being digital, radiation exposure is minimal, and the images are instantly available for diagnosis.

Cephalogram (Cephalometric X-ray)

A Cephalogram is a side-view X-ray of the head that shows the relationship between the teeth, jaws, and facial profile.
It is mainly used in orthodontics to:

  • Plan braces

  • Evaluate facial growth patterns

  • Assess airway obstruction

  • Guide jaw alignment and corrective surgeries

Both OPG and Cephalogram are painless, non-invasive, and essential tools for accurate diagnosis in dentistry and orthodontics.
